Start Your Own Kettle Corn Business

You have probably been asking yourself “What is kettle corn, how is it distinct from than popcorn and why is it a great idea to be in this business enterprise?”
Kettle corn is not caramel corn; it doesn’t taste like the Cracker Jacks you consumed as a child, and it isn’t like cheese popcorn or other “flavored” assortments. Kettle corn is special; there is no secret ingredient; but it’s the ratio of these components that makes the difference.
You’ll need to check what’s needed in your area as to what local permits are required. If you’re going to pop locally, your health depart will require an inspection; it’s probably a very small fee to find the necessary permit, although you’ll discover it’s never the identical requirements from location to location. Depending where you are, additional equipment may be needed which will force you to raise your investment money from the start. A sink will be the most essential extra item you might need (to wash your hands and/or equipment) and a pressurized water tank with a heat source.
There is nothing as discouraging as dealing with local health departments as the prerequisites can vary greatly for each location. In some places around the country, a state license may be necessary (often at times called a “Transient Vendor License) before you can set up shop– also, before you receive this permit (which may be something seemingly unrelated to your venture) you may be required to buy liability insurance. This main reason for this policy is to pay for medical expenses should a customer or employee hurt themselves on your “property”.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the two most important things in retirement are health and wealth. Without either one of these, retired life becomes more of a chore than a pleasure. If we don’t have enough money or if our health is not good, we can’t enjoy the quality of life we want. One hundred years ago, Wallace Wattles said in his book “The science of Getting Rich” that having enough money is essential to enjoying life. The economic downturn has made it necessary for a lot of seniors to continue to work or look for other ways to create more income just to enjoy the standard of living that they once had. Many have turned on their entrepreneurial spirit and turned to the internet to try things that they would not considered in the past.
There is a lot of written material about internet marketing and many experts available who will gladly show you how to make money online (usually for a small nominal fee). Most of the information is available for free, but it takes time to find it and learn how to apply it. And, the devil is in the details. One thing that I have learned is that there is a vast difference between having an online job and an online business. 1. Catering – Catering is a fun way to combine business with your love of cooking. Catering on a small scale can be done from your home especially if you already have a large and well equipped kitchen.
2. Child Care – If you love kids and you want to work from home an in home child care is a great idea for you. It can be a lot of work but if you love little ones it’s a great alternative to working at a traditional daycare.
3. Web Design – If you have the skills to be a freelance web designer you can make a really good living from home! There are a lot of web designers out there but if you know how to market yourself and if you have the skills to back it up you could be sitting on a gold mine!
4. eBay – Many people make good money by selling things on eBay auctions. Of course that requires some work in finding the right items and then shipping them out but it can be profitable in the right situation.
